AM. CH. Santera Summer's Trailblazer
|
AM. CH. Santera Summer's Trailblazer - Reagan is a lovely balanced boy who has
completed his championship quite easily. I had shown him several times as a
young dog so he would get used to the show ring (won a Reserve at
Potomac Irish Setter Club from puppy class) and he did pick up several
points at 18 months and then I kept him at home. I had him out in the front yard
one day when he was 4 years old and told myself that he just needed to get
out and finish his championship. Reagan was too nice to just stay at home. I
entered him for a weekend show in March at the Maryland Sporting Dog Club and
he ended up with a major there on one day. He was then entered in the
weekend following the Potomac Irish Setter Club Specialty and he won the
major on the supported entry. He was then entered at a small show in
August helping folks make a major which broke, but he did win Winners
Dog at one of those 2 shows. He just needed single points so he was entered
in October at the Delaware Irish Setter Club Specialty show where he
finished his championship with another major.
Reagan is genetically clear of PRA and also is OFA certified. |

Santera Summer Evening
|
Santera Summer Evening - Summer is a sweet young girl who is about the size of her mother. She appears that she will have a nice coat when she matures. She is a sound mover with good front and rear movement and an elegant girl like her mother. |
|
|
Santera Charmed Kade
|
Santera Charmed Kade - Kade is a littermate of Kyran. Both Kyran and Kade are 18 months younger than Vegas and Evie but from the same breeding of Keenan and Kismet. Kade is much like his older sister, Evie, with a lot of elegance. Kyran is more like Vegas and more of an older style of Irish with a little shorter body and a little more head. Kade is a little slower maturing than Kyran who has already bodied up. Kade still needs another 6 months or so. |
|
|
Santera Kyran’s Charmer
|
Santera Kyran’s Charmer - Kyran is a full little brother to both Evie and Vegas. He shows promise and attitude. Born in September 2007 he still needs training . Hopefully, we will enroll him in a class in the fall of 2008. He reminds us much of Saber, AM. CAN. CH. Santera Sterling Saber, as puppy with the older style of Irish Setter showing through. |
|
|
Santera Evening Star
|
Santera
Evening Star - Evie, is the
lovely daughter of our Keenan and Kismet. We also have her
sister , Vegas, here. |
|
|
Santera Starlit Design
|
Santera Starlit Design - Vegas is the call name we call Santera Starlit Design. We felt that the nights in Las Vegas were surely making designs in the sky at night. This entire litter had the word "Star' in their registered name as this was an important breeding for us. Right after we had done this breeding I saw a falling star and my wish was that Kismet would be pregnant. Soon after we got the good news; thus, all the pups were named with "Star" as part of their registered name. Vegas was shown as a puppy in Canada and did well at their Specialty. She has not been shown since as I can't really show my setters any more. Vegas is only one of the two girls I have here left at Santera to breed. She is very much like her younger brother, Kyran, as they both remind us of the old Wilson Farm dogs we saw many years ago. She has a nice personality and is a very sound girl with lovely head planes and nice movement. She is OFA good and genetically clear of PRA. |
|
|
Santera Earl of Keenan
|
Santera
Earl of Keenan, Keenan to us, is a son of
AM. CAN. CH. Santera Touch of
Sage and Santera Silver
Sileen. He is a gentle boy, but a big boy like his sire
and great grandsire, AM.
CAN. CH. Santera Bold Lightning. |
|
|
AM. CAN. CH. Santera
Silver Saxon |
AM.
CAN. CH. Santera Silver Saxon - Saxon is
a very sound boy who resembles the old Wilson Farm males.
His dam, McBoscage Marcella, was leased from Bill and Karen
Kimmel to breed to Saber. The old blood-lines were disappearing
so we wanted to try to save them before they were gone.
He has the beautiful dark coat, a great temperament, and
excellent bone. He was bred to Santera Charmin' Kismet and
produced 11 puppies. |
|
|
Santera Irish Spree |
Santera
Irish Spree - better known to us as Spree,
is a very balanced boy. He accumulated some very nice wins
in only 4 shows as a puppy: Best Puppy at the Ohio Specialty,
first in 9-12 month class at the Canadian Irish Setter National,
and first in Ottawa All Setter Specialty 9-12 month class.
We then pulled him and did not bring him out till he was
almost three years old. Now at four years, he has 12 points
including one major. |
|
|
Santera Charmin's Kismet
|
Santera
Charmin's Kismet - Kismet is one of the last
females we have here at Santera to breed since our girls
are all getting older. She is a very sound female but on
the small side. She has a lovely head and body and loves
to move. She had a litter with our AM.
CAN. CH. Santera Touch of Sage. Finally, when she was
almost four we brought her out into the show ring. She took
Reserve at the Irish Setter Club of Canada's National. Then
she proceeded to quickly pick up 8 points in the states
in very limited showing.

Wilson Farm Scarlet Tirvelda
CD OFA |
The beginning,
Wilson Farm Scarlet
Tirvelda, CD (pointed) - Scarlet was the
dam of two of our best known Irish - AM.
CAN. CH. Santera Tristan Troubadour and AM.
CAN. CH. Santera Tamberluck, CD. She loved to find the
birds in the fields and loved to be with us no matter where
we were. She lived to be 15 years old (1970-1985). |
|
|
AM. CAN. CH. Santera Tristan
Troubadour |
AM.
CAN. CH. Santera Tristan Troubadour - Tristan
got to meet some of the best known breeder judges of his
time. He took first out of a class of 22 in 6-9 puppy dog
class at the Eastern Specialty under Val Gonsor. At Potomac
Irish Setter Specialty Lucy Jane Myers (Draherin) put him
up for Best of Breed over Specials. Roy Jermone gave him
Winners at the Eastern Specialty. He was only used at stud
a few times before we discovered he was a carrier of PRA.
He still sired 5 champions. |
|
|
BIS AM. CAN. CH. Santera
Tamberluck CD |
AM.
CAN. CH. Santera Tamberluck, CD - Of the 2 brothers,
Tamber was the showman. Although smaller than Tristan,
he never put a foot in the wrong place. He was a Multi-Specialty
Winner and won BEST in SHOW in both Canada and the U.S.
breeder/owner/handled. He was never really campaigned. The
most he was ever shown was 17 times in one year. He was
test bred for PRA and cleared his test breeding. He produced
15 champions in limited breeding. |
|
|
Wilson Farm Santera Hope |
Wilson
Farm Santera Hope (9 points) - Hope was a
beautiful dark female from Tristan's last litter. At 6 months
she took Reserve at the CT Specialty. We stopped showing
her at 18 months to test breed her since both her parents
were carriers. Thank goodness she lived up to her name.
She was the hope that we could save something from her sire.
She certainly fulfilled that dream. |
|
|
Santera Hope Diamond
|
|
|
|
Santera Limerick Lane Sally
|
Santera
Limerick Lane Sally - Sally, a sister to
Diamond that we had sold as a young pup, returned here at
4 years because they felt she was not animated enough to
show in the show ring. We did get her out and got nice wins
under breeder/judges Bill Brooks and Ted Eldredge but due
to her age decided to breed her. |
|
|
AM. CAN. CH. Santera Bold Lightning
|
AM.
CAN. CH. Santera Bold Lightning - Lightning
was the grandson of Tristan and Tamber. His sire AM. CAN.
CH. Cabara's Brandy Gentleman, was a Tristan son who went
back to the old Wilson Farm line. His dam, a Tamber daughter,
added a little more of the old Tirvelda line. He was a large
boy who weighed about 85 pounds. He finished his championship
going BOS from the classes at the Irish Setter Club of Houston
Specialty. He was only used in limited breeding and produced
5 champions. |
|
|
Santera Starpoint Royal Sass
|
Santera
Starpoint Royal Sass - Sassy was also sold
on a co-ownership but returned here due to personal reasons
of her co-owner. She was only shown sparingly although she
had 3 littermates complete their championship. She produced
2 champions herself. |
|
|
Santera Melodic Promise
|
Santera
Melodic Promise (pointed) - Melody was the
last Lightning daughter we had here to breed. She produced
some offspring that are still being shown today. She has
had offspring do well in both obedience and conformation.
At this time 2 of her offspring out of AM. CH. Tapestry's
Royal Hue are finished in Canada and nearly finished in
the states. Of all the Lightning daughters she was the most
like her sire. |
|
|
Santera Beau of Brooklea
|
Santera
Beau of Brooklea (12 points) - Beau was sold
to a family as show potential as a puppy. The family decided
they no wanted to show Irish Setters so Beau came home.
We showed him and got 12 points on him before we decided
to show his son, Saber. He sired 2 champions from Sassy.
He was only bred to a few of our girls. |
|
|
AM. CAN. CH. Santera Sterling Saber
|
AM.
CAN. CH. Santera Sterling Saber - Saber was
the male we kept out of Sassy. He is a result of a line
breeding back to Sally and Diamond. He was only been bred
to our bitches except for one exception. He threw a lot
of himself in his offspring. He sired 2 American champions
(AM. CAN. CH. Santera Limited Edition and AM.
CAN. CH. Santera Silver Saxon and one Canadian champion,
CAN. CH. Santera Diamond O'Dugan.
We lost Saber right after his 12th birthday. He was always
a perfect gentleman and one of the best natured setters
we have ever bred. He will be missed. |
|
|
Ballymera's Whisperin' Wind |
Ballymera's
Whisperin' Breeze (14 points - one major) - Mariah
was the first setter I had purchased in over 20 years.
I decided I wanted a female to breed to Saber and had
been impressed by the offspring of her sire. In the litter
out of Saber there is one AM. CAN. Champion (AM. CAN.
CH. Santera Limited Edition) and one CAN.
CH. Santera Diamond O'Dugan. Several others in the
litter were pointed but not finished. In Mariah's second
litter out of Saber's son, AM.
CAN. CH. Santera Silver Saxon, we kept a male, Santera
Irish Spree, and a female, Santera
Charmin's Kismet. Mariah lived to be 14 years and 3 months when we lost her.
|
|
|
CAN. CH. Santera Southern
Sashay
(14 pts)
|
CAN.
CH. Santera Southern Sashay (14 points) - Shea
finished her Canadian Championship in 3 shows. She was a
flashy mover with a great showman attitude. She went WB
at the Irish Setter Club of Milwaukee in 7/00. She suffered
an injury in the fall of '00 so may never be able to finish
but what a lovely girl. |
|
|
CAN. CH. Santera Diamond O'Dugan
|
CAN.
CH. Santera Diamond O'Dugan - Dugan, a son
of Saber and Mariah, is a very balanced sound boy. He was
shown very little as a young dog since we were busy showing
Sage and Saxon. We finally took him out at three on a very
limited basis where he picked up a Reserve and a 3 point
major. Since we could not use him in our breeding program
due to the close breeding to our girls, we let him go to
a home in Canada where he finished his Canadian Championship
and sired a nice litter for them. He is OFA Good and genetically
clear of PRA. |
|
|
AM. CAN. CH. Santera Touch
of Sage |
AM.
CAN. CH. Santera Touch of Sage - Sage
is a lovely big elegant male who reminds me a lot of his
grandfather, Lightning. He has the temperament we love to
see here . He has been bred to Santera
Silver Sileen, which produced Santera
Dream Maker, and just recently bred to Santera Charmin'
Kismet, a Mariah/Saxon daughter. |
|
|
Santera Silver Sileen
|
Santera
Silver Sileen - Sileen is the sister to Saxon.
She is a very sound female but true to the old Wilson Farm
bloodlines she is very slow to mature. She was bred to Sage so she has one litter that will soon be a year old. As a
young female she did take BEST OPPOSITE IN SWEEPS to her
brother, Saxon. Her daughter out of Sage - Santera
Dream Maker - is pointed and has done well in the breed
ring. |
|
|
AM. CH. Santera Dream Maker
|
AM.
CH. Santera Dream Maker - Sally is a lovely
daughter of AM. CAN. CH. Santera
Touch of Sage and Santera
Silver Sileen. She now has 12 pts. (one major) . She
is OFA Good and genetically clear of PRA as all our dogs
are. She is the full sister to our Santera Earl of Keenan.
